Specific information on storage facilities
According to provisions of Emergency Ordinance no. 106/2020 and of Law no. 155/2020 for the amendment and completion of the Law on electricity and natural gas no. 123/2012, starting with April 1st, 2021, the price and tariff system for storage activity is no longer established by the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE).
The Order of the President of ANRE no. 141 for approval of the Regulation for programming and operation of the underground storage facilities for natural gas was published in the Official Journal of Romania on January 10th, 2022. The Regulation enters into force on April 1st, 2022, except for art. 5.
Consequently, according to art. 5, «Holders of licenses for the operation of underground storage systems for natural gas, publish this Order on their website within 5 working days from its publication in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I».
DEPOGAZ publishes, hereby, the Order of the President of ANRE no. 141/2021.

2026-2027
The documents required for the conclusion of storage contracts are:
- The requests drawn up according to the model in Annex no. 1;
- Supply / trader / operation license issued by ANRE, in copy;
- Unique registration code, in copy;
- Statement on one's own responsibility regarding the authenticity of the data and the conformity with the original of the copies of the attached documents;
- Document showing the agreement in principle of the NTS operator, regarding the transport of the quantities of natural gas destined for storage;
- The storage program prepared according to the model in Annex no. 2;
- Other documents that the applicant deems necessary to submit in support of the application;
- The declaration on one's own responsibility attesting the fact that the documents previously sent to DEPOGAZ have not undergone changes and are valid at the date of submitting the access request, with their clear identification, in case the application is for an extension of an existing storage contract;
- Self-declaration attesting that the Legal Representative / Legal Entity and its affiliated companies are not/are subject to international sanctions established according to art. 1, paragraph (1) and art. 1, paragraph (2), in conjunction with art. 4, paragraph (4) of OUG no. 202/2008, regarding the implementation of international sanctions according to the model in Annex no. 3.
2025-2026

2024-2025
Requests for access to the storage system can be submitted within a maximum of 5 working days from the publication of the decision of the president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority to establish the level of the minimum natural gas stock that must be established in the underground storage facilities during the period April 1, 2024 - October 31, 2024.

2023-2024
Applications for access to the underground storages of natural gas operated by DEPOGAZ, for the 2023-2024 storage cycle, can be submitted starting February 1st, 2023.

2022-2023
Applications for access to the underground storages of natural gas operated by DEPOGAZ, for the 2022-2023 storage cycle, can be submitted starting Tuesday, February 1st, 2022.

2021-2022
Applications for access to the underground storages of natural gas operated by DEPOGAZ, for the 2021-2022 storage cycle, can be submitted starting Thursday, February 4th, 2021.
Access to UGS is made according to the “Procedure regarding the access to the underground gas storage facilities”.
Requests for access to UGS, accompanied by the documents provided according to Art. 15 of the Procedure, in scanned copies, will be sent by e-mail to . Requests will be registered according to the "Date and time of receipt" of the e-mail.
The requests, accompanied by documents provided in Art. 15 of the Procedure, in original, will be also sent by courier, within maximum 5 days from the e-mail date, to the DEPOGAZ headquarter (see contact details here).

2020-2021
The first day for submitting the request for access to natural gas underground storage facilities operated by DEPOGAZ, for the storage cycle 2020-2021 is Friday, the 17th of January 2020.
The access to storage facilities is done according to “The regulated access to natural gas underground storage facilities procedure”, approved through Decision no. 824 from the 9th of June 2004 issued by the Natural Gas National Regulatory Authority, published in the Official Monitor, Part I, no. 562/24.06.2004.
The filled in request for access, along with the other necessary documents stated by art. 18 of the “The regulated access to natural gas underground storage facilities procedure”, must be submitted at the DEPOGAZ headquarter (see contact details here).
